TriCities Hospital in Hopewell, VA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the operating room. You will evaluate patients before surgery, educate patients and families, and ensure safe preoperative preparation and site verification.

You will collaborate with surgeons, technologists, and leadership to maintain high-quality, patient-centered care. Ideal candidates hold an RN license in Virginia (or compact state) and will obtain ACLS/BLS/PALS within required timeframes after start.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
• Current RN Virginia license or compact multistate license.
• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and pursue continuous improvement.

Education
