Job summary

Akron Children's in Ohio is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for full-time day shift. The LPN will provide skilled nursing care under the direction of an RN or licensed provider, and participate in planning, delivering, and documenting patient care.

Responsibilities include collecting data, developing care plans, administering medications, and educating patients and families. A valid Ohio LPN license and BLS are required, with 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of licensed practical nursing.
• Current, valid LPN license in the state of Ohio.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum one year of relevant experience preferred.
• Additional certifications may be required depending on assignment or department.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate nursing care under supervision of an RN or provider.
• Collect and monitor patient data including specimens and labs.
• Develop and implement patient care and discharge plans under RN direction.
• Safely administer medications, injections, and treatments.
• Educate patients and families on health, treatments, and self-care.
• Document all aspects of patient care per hospital policies.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness and report safety concerns.
• Collaborate with the patient care team and participate in ongoing education.
