Job summary

Bridgeway Community Health is seeking a qualified Substance Abuse Counselor to join our outpatient treatment team.

The position focuses on client-centered care, utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed methods, and employs motivational interviewing to engage clients in their recovery journey. CADC certification and Oregon-specific knowledge are preferred, with collaborative work across a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree or higher in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Typically 1–3 years of drug and alcohol addiction counseling experience.
• CADC I or higher certification required with MHACBO.

Responsibilities

• Provides client centered care using evidence-based and trauma-informed services.
• Uses motivational interviewing to build rapport and engage clients.
• Conducts ASAM and DSM-5 assessments and documents findings.
• Collaborates with other providers to ensure seamless services.
• Delivers evidence-based interventions for treatment goals and recovery.
• Facilitates group and individual counseling sessions.
• Maintains timely documentation including notes and reports.
• Monitors random urinalysis testing and reports results.
• Prepares monthly status reports for caseload and shares with care providers.
