Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our outpatient rehabilitation team. You will evaluate and treat pediatric and adult patients with diverse communication, cognitive, language, and swallowing disorders, creating individualized plans to promote independence and quality of life.

The position requires a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, NJ licensure, and BLS; CCC-SLP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a CAA-accredited program.
• Current and unrestricted New Jersey SLP license or temporary license.
• CCC-SLP from ASHA preferred or required based on position; BLS certification required.
• Outpatient, pediatric, rehabilitation or medical SLP experience preferred.
• CFY candidates may be considered for select opportunities.
• Knowledge of evaluation techniques, evidence-based treatment planning, and dysphagia management.
• Ability to educate patients and families; collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays and participate in meetings/education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech-language and swallowing evaluations and re-evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
• Provide skilled therapy for communication, cognitive, voice, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, social workers, and other team members.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies and home programs.
• Develop discharge plans and home programs to promote continued progress.
• Complete timely clinical documentation and coding in accordance with policies.
• Assist with supervision of students and maintain equipment and supplies.
