Job summary

Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose and treat speech, language, cognitive‑communication and swallowing disorders. The role focuses on outpatient services, with cross‑training to assist Inpatient Rehabilitation as needed and support for MBS studies in Radiology.

The SLP will develop individualized treatment plans, reassess progress, participate in interdisciplinary care, ensure accurate documentation and billing,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech‑language pathology from an approved program.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) required.
• Current Speech Language Pathologist license in the State of Florida required.
• Current BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification required.
• Experience performing Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.
• Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
• Demonstrates ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret information needed to identify patient requirements by age‑specific needs.
• Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing explanations.
• Re‑evaluates and modifies treatment plans and goals and prepares written documentation as required.
• Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from speech therapy.
• Ensures accurate billing and adherence to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
• Maintains regular attendance and compliance with policies.
