Job summary

Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join the Outpatient Rehab Services team. The SLP evaluates, diagnoses and treats speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages, with emphasis on outpatient therapy and supporting MBS studies in Radiology.

This role offers cross-training to support Inpatient Rehabilitation and opportunities to work with specialty cases such as Parkinson’s disease using LSVT LOUD.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech/language pathology required.
• CCC-SLP certification required.
• Current Florida license required.
• BLS/HealthCare Provider certification required.
• Experience performing Modified Barium Swallow preferred.
• Experience in outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation preferred.
• LSVT LOUD certification or PD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.
• Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
• Demonstrates ability to assess data reflective of patient status and identify age-specific needs.
• Demonstrates competency in use, care and maintenance of equipment and explains its purpose.
• Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plans and prepares written documentation.
• Recognizes when patient has received optimal benefit from speech therapy.
• Ensures accurate billing.
• Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
• Maintains attendance and compliance with Orlando Health policies.
