Job summary

Saint Peter's Healthcare System in New Jersey invites an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Wound Care Center as an Outpatient RN Per Diem. You will assess health status, plan and evaluate care, provide direct patient care, teach patients and families, and ensure safe discharge with home-care guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assess the health status of assigned patients as outlined in the Nursing Standards.
• Plan, implement and evaluate individualized care based on patient assessment and Multi-Disciplinary Plan of Care.
• Provide direct patient care or direction and supervision to other health team members to ensure proper implementation of care in accordance with NJ Board of Nursing and ANA guidelines.
• Teach patient/significant others about health/illness state and plan of care.
• Ensure patient/significant others are prepared for discharge and home health maintenance.
• Demonstrate competency in procedures within scope of practice per NJ Board of Nursing and ANA guidelines.

The Outpatient RN Per Diem will:

• Assess the health status of assigned patients as outlined in the Nursing Standards.
• Plan, implement and evaluate individualized care based on patient assessment and Multi-Disciplinary Plan of Care.
• Provide direct patient care or direction and supervision to other health team members to ensure proper implementation of care in accordance with the requirements of the NJ Board of Nursing, current regulatory guidelines, the ANA Code of Ethics and institutional policies and procedures.
• Teach patient/significant others about health/illness state and plan of care.
• Ensure that patient/significant others are prepared for discharge and health maintenance in the home setting.
• Ensure all procedures are performed based on established Standards of Care. Demonstrate competency in performing all procedures within own scope of practice, in accordance with the requirements of the N.J. Board of Nursing, current regulatory guidelines, and the ANA Code of Ethics as appropriate to the ages of the patients growth and development through the life cycle. (Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics) Understand and implement the range of treatment needed by these patients.

Requirements:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
• BSN preferred
• BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
