The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a surgical unit. The RN will manage patient and family care, direct and supervise the patient care team, and coordinate nursing activities across shifts.
This 36-hour/week role requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing, current Ohio RN licensure, and prior surgical center experience is preferred. Call is rotated; background check and post-offer screening may apply.
Scope of Position The Ohio State University Medical Center's mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, teaching and research. The Registered Nurse functions as an integral member of a team of care providers on a patient care unit, who reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect.
The RN is responsible for managing care to the patient and family, and for directing and supervising the other members of the patient care team. He/she is responsible for assessing, prescribing, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating nursing care of patients. The RN prioritizes patient care needs and provides leadership and development of the patient care team. Individuals within this position must be able to function fully within performance expectations defined for nurses in a surgical setting. Call assigned on a rotating basis and as late cases arise.
This is a 36-hour/week position worked as four 9-hour shifts.
