Job summary

Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our surgical unit. The RN will manage patient and family care, directing the patient care team and coordinating nursing care across shifts.

The role involves leadership responsibilities, assessment and delegation, with call duties on a rotating basis. The position is a 36-hour/week schedule with four 9-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have RN licensure in Ohio or an interim permit.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Previous surgical center experience is preferred.

Scope of Position

Position Summary

The RN is responsible for managing care to the patient and family, and for directing and supervising the other members of the patient care team. He/she is responsible for assessing, prescribing, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating nursing care of patients. The RN prioritizes patient care needs and provides leadership and development of the patient care team. Individuals within this position must be able to function fully within performance expectations defined for nurses in a surgical setting. Call assigned on a rotating basis and as late cases arise.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse.
• 0 years of relevant experience required.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Current Ohio licensure or interim permit.
• Previous surgical center experience preferred.

This is a 36-hour/week position worked as four 9-hour shifts.
