Job summary

Inova Health System is seeking an Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Pulmonology team in Virginia on a full-time day shift (Mon-Fri, 8:00am–4:30pm). The clinic location is on-site in Ashburn, VA.

You will perform essential outpatient nursing duties, including triage, care navigation, and patient education. Qualified candidates hold a BSN and an active RN license in Virginia, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing school; if ADN, BSN within 5 years.
• RN licensure (or eligibility) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe/therapeutic care in an outpatient physician practice or similar setting.
• Performs phone triage and care navigation; manages in-basket workflow.
• Delivers patient and family education and supports care coordination to achieve desired outcomes.
• Makes independent clinical decisions based on education and experience.

Inova Health - Pulmonology is looking for a dedicated Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team. This role will be full time day shift from Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:

Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include:

Phone triage

Care navigation

In-basket management

Provides safe/therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. Incorporates differences into the provision of care while integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families to include patient and family education. Achieves desired patient outcomes by using an integrated approach.

Incorporates data and information to improve care and enhances outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor.

Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care. Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems. Works with the team to achieve maximum productivity.

Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

Licensure: RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.

Experience: 0 years of registered nurse clinical experience.

Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of acute care experience such as ICU, ER, trauma or surgical units
