Job summary

Inova Health System is seeking an Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) for Cardiology in Springfield, VA. This on-site, part-time role is approximately 16 hours per week and focuses on providing comprehensive nursing care in a physician practice or outpatient setting.

The RN will perform intakes, medication reconciliation, and stress testing, while ensuring safe and holistic patient care. Arizona licensure is not required; Virginia licensure or eligibility is necessary. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Associate’s Degree. If RN has an ADN; must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN licensure in Virginia or eligibility to practice in Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential duties in clinic or outpatient settings, including full intakes.
• Reconciliation of medications.
• Stress testing such as Regular, Echo and Nuclear.
• Provide safe, holistic patient care and educate patients and families.
• Support team with guidance and mentorship and improve care delivery.

Inova Health - Cardiology is looking for a dedicated Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team. This role will be a part time day shift; approximately 16 hrs/week

Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:

Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include:

Full Intakes

Reconciliation of Medications

Stress Testing (Regular, Echo and Nuclear)

Provides safe/therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. Incorporates differences into the provision of care while integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families to include patient and family education. Achieves desired patient outcomes by using an integrated approach.

Incorporates data and information to improve care and enhances outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor.

Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care. Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems. Works with the team to achieve maximum productivity.

Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Nursing or Associate’s Degree. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

Licensure: RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.

Experience: 0 years of registered nurse clinical experience.

Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

Greater than one year of RN experience in addition to prior Cardiology Nursing background such as in IMCU, PCU, Tele, CVICU is preferred.
