Inova Children's Multispecialty in Fairfax, VA is seeking an Outpatient Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric and Adolescent OBGYN team. This full-time day shift runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The RN will provide patient education, injections, refills, and coordination of care in a physician practice, while supporting team goals and ensuring high-quality, safe care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Nursing.
• RN licensure in Virginia.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• If ADN, BSN to be completed within 5 years of start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential duties in clinic operations: prior authorization, medication refills, in-basket, injections, patient education.
• Provides safe, holistic care in a pediatric/OBGYN outpatient setting, incorporating family education and patient outcomes.
• Guides team, uses data to improve care, and serves as a resource and mentor.
• Ensures efficiency and productivity; determines priorities and offers practical solutions.
• Makes independent clinical decisions based on education and experience.

Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:

• Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include:

• Provides safe/therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. Incorporates differences into the provision of care while integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families to include patient and family education. Achieves desired patient outcomes by using an integrated approach.
• Incorporates data and information to improve care and enhances outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor.
• Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care. Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems. Works with the team to achieve maximum productivity.
• Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Licensure: RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN), must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
