The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This position is accountable for providing and coordinating clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. It may include delegating appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff such as RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians. As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) healthcare team, this role involves decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and facility operations.
The role involves heavy lifting, assisting with patient mobility, prolonged standing, and working with equipment up to 200 lbs. The environment is a healthcare setting with potential exposure to infectious materials. Travel may be required.
Oversight of care staff after meeting specific experience and training requirements, including at least 9 months as an RN and 3 months in hemodialysis.
