Job summary

Htprof is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant – Outpatient to provide skilled therapy under a licensed PT, in Montour Falls, NY. This onsite role supports outpatient patients with individualized treatment plans, gait and balance training, ADLs, and use of assistive devices.

You will document patient responses, participate in discharge planning, educate patients and families, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while supporting a collaborative multidisciplinary team in a premier health

Qualifications

• Accredited PTA program completed with an Associate's degree.
• Current New York State PTA license or eligibility.
• CPR certification current.
• Annual mandatory safety in-services and HealthStream trainings.
• Outpatient or clinical experience preferred; new grads considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist with implementing treatment plans addressing patient goals and functional needs.
• Instruct, encourage, and assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and ADLs.
• Assist patients in using assistive devices (crutches, walkers, canes, orthotics).
• Apply modalities (hot/cold packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation) as directed.
• Monitor and document patient responses and report progress to the PT.
• Communicate patient progress and modify treatment as needed with the PT.
• Participate in discharge planning and reinforce home exercise programs.
