Job summary

CalvertHealth is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our outpatient rehabilitation team. You will work with Physical Therapists and the inter-disciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered rehab aimed at improving mobility, function, independence, and overall quality of life.

The PTA provides direct patient care in outpatient settings under supervision, documents progress, supports treatment plans, and collaborates across the care continuum.

Qualifications

• Must possess a degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners license required.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in rehabilitation, acute care, sub-acute, or outpatient settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and independence.
• Document treatment and progress accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physicians, and care team.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and departmental activities.
• Assist with scheduling, patient flow, equipment management, and clinic operations.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment and adhere to infection prevention policies.
• Educate patients and caregivers about treatment activities and safety.
• Demonstrate professionalism and effective communication.
