Job summary

Day Kimball Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for our Outpatient Rehabilitation team in Putnam, CT. This 24-hour-per-week position supports patient care under the Physical Medicine Director and supervising therapists.

You will help administer prescribed therapy programs, document progress, and educate patients and families to improve mobility and independence in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in PTA from an accredited program.
• Licensure by the State of Connecticut is required.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Record treatment, response, progress, and discharge information in the patient chart.
• Perform PT procedures as delegated by the supervising therapist (exercise, heat/cold, traction, massage, gait training, hydrotherapy).
• Educate patient and family regarding condition, treatment, and home program.
• Confer with physician and practitioners regarding progress or changes to plan.
