Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Amarillo seeks a registered nurse to join the Outpatient Program. You will provide nursing care for adults and seniors, support multidisciplinary treatment plans, and document care in the medical record.

The role requires strong communication, ability to work in a high-stress environment, and adherence to hospital policies. Prior acute medical/surgical or psychiatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure.
• Prefer 1 year experience in an acute medical/surgical and/or acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients using standard scales and collect data to identify basic needs.
• Communicate assessment findings with health care team and document in the medical record.
• Implement nursing interventions per the multidisciplinary treatment plan in collaboration with other providers.
• Perform nursing procedures, monitor vital signs, and educate patients as needed.
• Administer medications safely and supervise self-administration when appropriate.
• Transcribe orders accurately and coordinate prescription refills as directed.
• Coordinate safe patient transportation with transport staff.
• Assist with ongoing patient care responsibilities to ensure continuum of care.
