Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Abilene seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide compassionate psychiatric care. You will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for adolescents, adults, and seniors with anxiety, depression and related conditions.

Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with the care team to ensure high-quality, safe patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in the practicing state.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• One year inpatient hospital experience preferred.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identifies risk levels, precautions, and expected outcomes including discharge planning.
• Demonstrates knowledge of psychiatric disorders and appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administers medications as prescribed and educates patients on medications.
• Reviews and updates medical records accurately; documents care and progress.
• Communicates needs to staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegates duties and advocates for patient safety and well‑being.
• Floats among clinical services and performs other duties as assigned.
