Job summary

Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Kentucky is seeking an Outpatient Pre-Op PACU Nurse to join our operating room team. You will evaluate patients preoperatively, provide education to patients and families, and participate in safety checks and perioperative processes to ensure quality care.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to evidence-based practices, and collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and staff.

Qualifications

• RN with Kentucky license and Associate Degree required.
• ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications required or due within stated timelines.
• Experience in perioperative or PACU settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and perioperative care.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in site verification and universal protocols.
• Respond to emergencies and deliver evidence-based care.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons and surgical staff.
• Apply nursing process with critical thinking and leadership.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes throughout shift.
