Job summary

Burke in Bronx, NY is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care and develop evidence-based treatment plans. You will work with an interdisciplinary team, evaluate patients, set goals, and educate patients and families while maintaining HIPAA and safety standards.

New graduates are welcome; NYS PT license required or eligible. BLS/ACLS preferred. Schedule includes weekday shifts in the hospital setting with opportunities for growth and staff collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS, Master's or Doctor of Physical Therapy Required.
• New graduate or less than 2 years' experience required.
• Works with patients, families and interdisciplinary team including PT staff, physicians, and other disciplines.
• Must be able to perform dependent assistance transfers.
• Able to monitor vital signs.
• Eligible for NYS PT License or Physical Therapists - New York State Board of Physical Therapy Required.
• BLS or ACLS certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care as appropriate and as defined by position level.
• Performs standardized evaluations of patients using standard techniques.
• Develops appropriate long- and short-term goals.
• Develops basic treatment plans based on evaluation results that lead to goals.
• Provides age-appropriate treatment based on evaluation results.
• Completes documentation according to facility time frames and requirements.
• Notifies supervisor of unusual patient findings in a timely manner.
• Maintains an awareness of department issues and promotes problem solving.
