Job summary

Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform daily phlebotomy duties and related laboratory tasks in a patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities include accurate specimen collection, patient identification, labeling, and occasional EKGs. The role requires organization, communication skills, and adherence to safety and confidentiality policies within BVHS facilities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Ability to provide own transportation while on duty.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Organized, able to prioritize, fast-paced environment, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused and service oriented with good written and spoken communication.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Understanding of age-specific patient care and growth/development concepts.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day phlebotomy duties per standards and regulations.
• Verify patient identity and properly label specimens.
• Perform EKGs when trained and instructed.
• Prioritize collection of stats, urgent and routine orders for lab delivery.
• Maintain phlebotomy supplies and keep a neat workspace.
• Monitor computer systems, batches, requisitions, and labels.
• Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in patient interactions.
• Communicate with patients, physicians and lab staff per service standards.
• Provide age-appropriate care and follow safety policies.
