Job summary

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is hiring a PRN/Flexi Pharmacy Technician for our brand new Outpatient Pharmacy. The role involves dispensing medications and performing care delivery under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

This rotating, shift-based position supports open 9am–7pm, Monday through Friday, with weekends and major holidays closed. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement plans, paid time off, and opportunities for incentive pay.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician licensure required in Virginia.
• CPhT license required (NHA or PTCB).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and deliver medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Fill prescriptions and verify accuracy with the pharmacist.
• Maintain adequate stock to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the technician's scope.

Overview

Sentara is hiring a PRN/Flexi Pharmacy Technician for our brand new Outpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA.

Responsibilities

• The Pharmacy Technician performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Certification/Licensure Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
• CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
