Job summary

Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach, VA is hiring a Full-time Pharmacy Technician. The role requires a Virginia Pharmacy Tech License and a CPhT license, with at least two years of pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• The Pharmacy Tech performs technician responsibilities in specialized areas under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
• Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently in defined specialized areas of pharmacy practice.
• Training in an advanced Specialist Pharmacy Technician job functions.
• Assumes local/system responsibility for tasks related to advanced specialist positions.
• Participates in training of new employees.
• Fills and delivers medications under supervision as required by specialty position.
• Ensures supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions outside the technician scope of practice.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance per departmental/legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Training in advanced Specialist Pharmacy Technician functions.

Job Responsibilities

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
