Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor for Outpatient Pharmacies. You will oversee technicians, coordinate daily operations, and support dispensing, billing, and patient care across multiple clinics.

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, you will recruit, schedule, train staff, conduct evaluations, and ensure compliance with regulations while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Seven years of related experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus three years.
• Pharmacy Technician in California.
• Knowledge of pharmacy trends and medication optimization.
• Knowledge of policies on storage, safety, privacy and regulations.
• Leadership in training and guiding staff on technical skills.
• Motivates staff to improve quality and services.
• Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines in a complex environment.
• Organize staff and unit operations efficiently.
• Strong verbal and written communication to explain clinical concepts.
• Experience with clinical documentation apps and pharmacy databases, and training others.

Responsibilities

• Supervise outpatient pharmacy technicians and coordinate daily operations.
• Support drug dispensing, billing and payment processing activities.
• Manage schedules, recruiting, timekeeping and evaluations.
• Provide training, set goals, and foster a collaborative, compliant environment.
• Report to Pharmacy Manager and collaborate with Pharmacy leadership.
• Uphold standards required by accrediting bodies and laws.
