Advocate Health’s Christ Medical Center - Outpatient Pharmacy is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and labeling medications, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances. You will support inventory, processing, and data entry across outpatient operations.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, state licensure, and certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy required.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT or ExCPT) within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

Assist licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
Accurately select, prepare, and label medications for patients including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
Assist with medication distribution tasks and inventory control.
Screen phone calls and route as needed with proper etiquette.
Document removal, stocking, and waste of controlled substances as applicable.
Perform nonsterile compounding following USP standards.
Perform sterile IV admixture using aseptic technique.
Ensure all storage areas comply with storage policies.
Record medication admission histories and assist with data entry and insurance verification.
May travel between pharmacy locations as needed.
