Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution (education verified).
License to practice pharmacy in the state of practice and dispense controlled substances.
Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy in the state of practice.
Effective communication, people management, and project management skills.
Immunization certification if applicable to practice site needs

Responsibilities

Reviews patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug-drug interaction; makes evidence-based interventions.
Oversees and/or ensures timely preparation and delivery of medications to care areas, with secure storage.
Provides counseling to patients and promotes quality medication education and adherence.
Supervises interns, technicians, and support personnel; provides clinical consultation to health professionals.
Solves problems related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and patient care concerns.
Identifies areas for workflow improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and safety; participates in departmental meetings.
