Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution (education verified).
License to practice pharmacy in the state of practice and dispense controlled substances.

Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

Reviews patients' medication orders for allergies, therapy duplication, appropriateness, and interactions; intervenes to optimize use.
Oversees preparation and delivery of medications to care areas, ensuring safety and workflow efficiency.
Provides patient counseling and promotes medication education and adherence.
Supervises interns, technicians, and support staff; provides clinical consultation to health professionals.
Identifies problems and works on equipment, staffing, and patient care concerns.
Suggests process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and safety; participates in departmental meetings.
