The UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department is looking for an Outpatient Pharmacist Intern – Year Two to join our Pharmacy team.

Work Schedule

• Per Diem
• Rotating/Variable Shifts
• Open only to currently enrolled students in the UW School of Pharmacy year two.

Position Highlights

• Pharmacist Intern independently performs technical pharmaceutical functions, such as compounding medications, filling medication orders, and preparing compounded sterile products.
• All duties are performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Perform certified order entry of medication orders into the ambulatory pharmacy computer system.
• Fill prescriptions under direction of a licensed pharmacist.
• Utilize ScriptPro Central for filling, labeling, and batching.
• Assist with online processing of prescription orders.
• Assist patients with new prescriptions and refills.
• Determine payment method and assist patients with alternate sources of payment.
• Perform charging and billing functions.
• Assist in preparation of compound pharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Refer clinical inquiries requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgment.
• Assist with patient counseling.
• Discharge medication bedside delivery.
• Prescription transfers.

Required Position Qualifications

• Open only to currently enrolled students in the UW School of Pharmacy year two.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Intern with the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
