Job summary

The UW Medical Center – Northwest Pharmacy Department in Seattle is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning. This full-time role (40 hours per week) supports licensed pharmacists in dispensing and preparation of medications and in triage of clinical inquiries.

Required qualifications include completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program and Washington State pharmacy technician certification.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited/approved pharmacy technician training program.
  • State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification is required.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail in dispensing medications.
  • Ability to triage clinical inquiries under pharmacist supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely medication procurement, preparation and dispensing.
  • Restock drug storage areas and refill automated drug dispensing devices.
  • Packaging of medications into single unit doses and patient-specific doses.
  • Triage incoming phone calls and clinical inquiries requiring pharmacist judgement.
