Job summary

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas is seeking an Outpatient Variable Pharmacist to deliver safe, effective, patient-centered services across outpatient operations including cancer network and infusion therapy settings.

Responsibilities include accurate prescription reviews, coordination with infusion and oncology teams, specialty therapy management, and ensuring compliant handling and dispensing. Eligible candidates have Texas licensure and IV certification within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Reviews, interprets, and verifies prescriptions for appropriateness including indication, dose, route, frequency, interactions, allergies, contraindications.
• Oversees preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications by pharmacy technicians per policies and laws.
• Coordinates services for specialty medications, includes access, prior authorization, counseling, and therapy management.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and verifies prescriptions and orders for safety and efficacy, considering interactions and allergies.
• Oversees medication prep and dispensing by techs in line with policies and regulations.
• Supports infusion therapy by aligning with oncology and infusion care teams and ensures proper handling of meds.
• Coordinates specialty medication services including access, prior authorization, adherence monitoring, and counseling.
• Keeps up-to-date on all processes and systems used across sites.
