Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL seeks a Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our team. The role includes evaluating patients, diagnosing and planning care, and coordinating with physicians. A Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred, with PT or PT-TEMP licensure and BLS certification.

Full-time positions with day shifts and potential for relocation or sign-on bonuses are available; a strong focus on pediatric patients and community outreach is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (preferred)
• Licensed PT (PT) or Physical Therapist - Temporary (PT-TEMP) required
• Experience in treating pediatric population
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

• Determines physical therapy diagnosis and establishes a plan of care.
• Designs and implements treatment plan of care using standards, techniques, and guidelines.
• Performs evaluations and re-evaluations.
• Oversees care provided by PT assistants and rehab aides.
• Participates in marketing to physicians and practices to build referrals.
• Maintains productivity and adapts to patient census and center needs.

Job Description

• Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for Eligible Applicants
• Up to $3000 Relocation Bonus for Eligible Applicants
• Schedule: Monday - Friday Choice of either four Ten hour shifts or five 8 hour shifts
• Location: Advent Health Sports Med and Rehab, 1724 N. Mills Ave, Orlando, FL32803
• The anticipated minimum pay rate for this position is $35/hour.
• Determines physical therapy diagnosis and establishes a plan of care, making recommendations for referral if treatment is needed outside the scope of physical therapist practice.
• Designs and implements treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards, recommended techniques, modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
• Participates in marketing to physicians and physician practices to build referral relationships.
• Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.
• Participates in marketing to physicians/physician practices to build referral relationships.
• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community.
• Adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers and programs as approved and observed by the manager or director.
• Practices principles of professional development by maintaining clinical competencies, using best and/or evidence-based practices, and serving as a clinical instructor.
• Oversees the care provided by physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards.
• Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
• Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department, through effective time management and clinical efficiency and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required
• Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluates muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems.
• Monitors patient response and progress to treatment, modifying the treatment plan as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
