Job summary

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to join the Outpatient Rehabilitation: Fitness Center. This full-time role requires 36 hours per week with two evenings until 7:00 p.m., and offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new hires.

Experience with lymphedema is required; brain injury and orthopedic experience are preferred. The position focuses on evaluating, planning, and delivering therapy to improve daily living activities and functional independence.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state where you work; BLS certification.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician referrals and evaluates patient abilities and impact on activities of daily living.
• Establishes a plan of care and implements individualized treatment; provides devices/splints as needed.
• Monitors outcomes, adjusts treatment plans, and communicates with physicians and team members.
• Plans for discharge with home programs and patient teaching; coordinates community referrals.
• Completes all required documentation and adheres to billing and scheduling policies.
• Maintains safety and infection control; cleans up after patient treatment and handles equipment.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and assists with coverage planning as needed.
• May supervise occupational therapy assistants, rehab aides, or students as appropriate.
