Mercy Orthopaedics and Sports Rehabilitation is seeking a talented, compassionate physical therapist committed to excellence. We are a leader in evidence-based orthopedic and sports medicine care, working closely with talented orthopedic physicians. Our treatment model is impairment-based, focused on hands-on, evidence-based care delivered on a one-to-one basis. Therapists are trained in advanced skills including dry needling, manual therapy, manipulative skills, evidence-based return to play, and sports medicine.

The focus for our orthopedic team at Mercy Orthopaedics and Sports Rehabilitation Oxford Office includes outpatient orthopedic, post-surgical, spine, and sports medicine.

Specifically, you’ll need:

  • To evaluate, plan, and implement Physical Therapy services using an impairment-based approach, following standards of practice, Ohio laws, and departmental policies.
  • Current licensure as a physical therapist in Ohio.
  • CPR certification.
  • Orthopedic Certification (Preferred).
  • Manual Training or Certification (Preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with physicians, PTs, PTAs, and other rehab professionals.
  • Ability to educate patients, families, caregivers, and treatment teams.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload effectively.

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Physical Therapist conducts initial and ongoing assessments and provides skilled therapeutic interventions to patients, including outpatients, inpatients, pediatrics, and off-site locations, supporting the continuum of care.

Essential Job Functions

  • Evaluate patients by gathering pertinent information and developing treatment plans with specific goals, adjusting as needed.
  • Provide direct therapy following the plan of care and current standards, including patient and family education.
  • Maintain accurate records of treatment and patient progress, documenting all care in the electronic medical record promptly.
  • Maintain productivity standards without compromising quality of care.
  • Follow departmental policies on safety, infection control, and administrative procedures.
  • Supervise physical therapist assistants’ interventions and professional development.
  • Precept students during clinical rotations, if applicable.
  • Promote rehabilitation and wellness activities with patients and families.
  • Coordinate care with other disciplines, agencies, and families to meet patient needs.

Skills

Hard/Technical/Clinical Skills:
  • Apply age-specific standards and guidelines for pediatric to geriatric patients.
  • Proficient in computer skills including data entry, word processing, and records management.
  • Evaluate patient condition, capabilities, and progress analytically.
Soft/Interpersonal Skills:
  • Effective communication with co-workers, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations and demonstrate critical thinking.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety and infection prevention standards.
  • Work independently and effectively.
