Job summary

Capital Surgical Solutions LLC seeks an Anesthesiologist to provide high-quality anesthesia care for outpatient orthopedic procedures at its Germantown facilities. The role emphasizes regional anesthesia, multimodal pain management, and rapid recovery with same-day discharge.

The position requires an MD/DO, completed residency, ABA/AOBA certification or eligibility, MD license in Maryland, and active DEA/PDMP-registrations, along with ultrasound-guided block proficiency and strong patient-safety

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
• Completed ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency in anesthesiology
• Board certified or board eligible by the ABA or AOBA, with certification obtained within the required timeframe
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine issued by the Maryland Board of Physicians (or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact)
• Current DEA registration with a Maryland address
• Current Maryland CDS registration from the Maryland Department of Health, Office of Controlled Substances Administration
• Registration with the Maryland Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP)
• Current ACLS certification (BLS and PALS as required by center policy)
• Proficiency in ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks
• Ability to obtain and maintain medical staff privileges at Capital Orthopaedic Surgery Center and District Surgery Center

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough pre-anesthesia evaluations and determine patient suitability for ambulatory setting
• Develop and carry out individualized anesthesia plans including general, MAC, neuraxial, and peripheral nerve blocks
• Perform ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia and block techniques
• Use multimodal analgesia and support ERAS pathways for rapid recovery and same-day discharge
• Monitor patients intraoperatively and manage hemodynamic, airway, and other events
• Oversee postoperative recovery and determine discharge readiness
• Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs, nursing staff, and center leadership
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Support anesthesia coding, billing, credentialing, and privileges
• Comply with CDS handling, PDMP, and center policy
