Job summary

Capital Orthopaedic Surgery Center and District Surgery Center are seeking an Anesthesiologist to provide safe, efficient anesthesia for outpatient orthopedic procedures. Emphasis on regional anesthesia and multimodal pain management to support rapid recovery and same-day discharge.

The role requires collaboration with CRNAs, surgeons, and perioperative staff in a high-throughput setting, with duties spanning pre-op evaluations, intraoperative anesthesia, and post-op recovery.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completed ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency in anesthesiology.
• Board certified or board eligible by ABA or AOBA within required timeframe.
• Current, unrestricted Maryland medical license (or eligibility via IMLC).
• Current Maryland CDS registration and PDMP registration.
• ACLS certification (BLS and PALS as required).
• Proficiency in ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough pre-anesthesia evaluations and determine ambulatory suitability.
• Develop and implement anesthesia plans including general, MAC, neuraxial, and peripheral nerve blocks.
• Perform ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia and catheter techniques.
• Utilize multimodal analgesia and ERAS pathways for rapid recovery.
• Monitor intraoperative patient status and manage hemodynamic/airway events.
• Oversee postoperative recovery and discharge criteria; manage PONV and pain.
• Collaborate with CRNAs, surgeons, and staff to maintain OR efficiency.
