Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Outpatient Infusion/Oncology position requiring recent chemotherapy administration experience and teaching hospital background. The role focuses on outpatient infusion center duties in an oncology setting with day shifts and occasional weekend requirements.

Epic is used for charting, and a California RN license with BLS and oncology credentials is needed.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license is required at time of consideration.
• BSN is required.
• AHA BLS certification is required.
• Chemo/Immunotherapy ONS/ONCC certification is required.
• Minimum 2 years recent adult oncology nursing experience is required.
• Minimum 1 year recent outpatient infusion experience administering chemotherapy/biotherapy within the last 3 years is required.
• Experience with infusions, pain management, transfusion therapy, and hydration is required.
• Teaching hospital experience is required and must be noted in employment history.
• 2 professional references from most recent employer are required.
• OCN certification or other relevant specialty certification is preferred.
• 3+ years of adult oncology nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient Infusion Center setting supporting oncology patients.
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours with start times between 7-9am.
• 1-2 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule period.
• Floating to other facility locations within a 75+ mile radius as needed.
• Epic charting system used.
• Administer chemotherapy/biotherapy, IV push chemo, blood and blood products, port care, PICC line care, and infusion pump management.
• Handle body fluids post-chemotherapy and administer antifungals, antivirals, antibiotics, and coagulation factors.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travel candidates.
• Disclose prior employment with UC medical facilities for rehire eligibility review.
• Disclose all requested time off at time of offer; no mid-contract RTO extensions.
• RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of assignment start date.
• Travel pairs are allowed but typically not placed on the same unit.
