Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking a registered nurse to coordinate, manage and communicate oncology treatment plans for patients and families. You will triage patient issues, provide symptom management, and educate patients about their disease and therapies.

Under supervision, you will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and use clinical outcomes data to inform practice improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current registration with Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse.
• Completion of "Healthcare Provider" CPR course.
• ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy provider card preferred, but not mandatory.
• Infusion experience and outpatient experience preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, manage and communicate the plan of treatment to patients and families.
• Assist in communications with patients and triage patient issues.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to support changes to clinical practice using outcomes data.
• Utilize Nursing Process for assessment, planning, implementation and coordination of care.
• Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments; ensure documentation in EMR.
• Provide patient education and support for treatment plans and follow-up.
