Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner license in Texas is required.
• RN licensure with compact privileges or equivalent is required.
• Certification from an accredited board as an APRN is required for the focus population.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer is required.
• Graduate from an accredited program with applicable licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients through comprehensive or problem-focused exams and histories.
• Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests to evaluate health needs.
• Prescribes medications and therapies per approved protocols; assesses efficacy and safety.
• Develops and implements patient treatment plans; coordinates with physicians and team members.
• Counsels patients and families on medical processes, nutrition, and medication usage.
• Maintains accurate records and initiates timely referrals when needed.
• Delivers consultation-level services for the provider's specialty and manages care in non-primary settings.
