Job summary

Protouch Staffing in Houston seeks an experienced Certified Coder for a contract outpatient neurosurgery coding role. The ideal candidate has strong outpatient Neurosurgery and E/M coding experience and will join a collaborative revenue cycle team.

You will review documentation, assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes with modifiers, support billing and compliance, and participate in ongoing coding education. Hybrid schedule; August 31 to November 28, 2026.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum 2 years of outpatient Neurosurgery coding experience.
• Must have minimum 2 years of outpatient E/M coding experience.
• Experience coding Neurology for physicians.
• HCC coding experience preferred.
• EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for outpatient encounters.
• Review clinical documentation to capture diagnoses and procedures.
• Apply appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT codes and modifiers per guidelines.
• Support billing, reporting, and revenue cycle operations.
• Maintain compliance with coding guidelines and policies.
• Identify documentation deficiencies and query providers as needed.
• Communicate with physicians and leadership effectively.
• Maintain productivity and meet deadlines.
