Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an experienced Certified Medical Coder with outpatient Neurosurgery and E/M coding expertise in a hybrid Houston, TX setting. The ideal candidate will code outpatient Neurosurgery physician services, apply ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes, and select appropriate modifiers in compliance with coding guidelines.

Minimum 2 years of outpatient Neurosurgery and E/M coding experience, with Neurology/Neurosurgery physician services and active CPC/CCS/RHIT/CMC/CCA certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of outpatient Neurosurgery coding experience.
• Minimum 2 years of outpatient E/M coding experience.
• Experience coding Neurology/Neurosurgery physician services.
• Strong working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, and coding modifiers.
• Active certification CPC, CCS, RHIT, CMC, or CCA.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely coding for outpatient Neurosurgery physician services.
• Code outpatient E/M services.
• Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes accurately.
• Assign CPT-4 procedure codes.
• Apply modifiers appropriately based on documentation and coding guidelines.
• Review clinical documentation to determine appropriate codes and ensure coding accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with applicable coding guidelines and payer requirements.
• Work effectively in a hybrid environment while maintaining productivity and accuracy standards.
