Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages. The role serves as a clinical resource for staff and students within the rehabilitation team.

You will design individualized plans of care, adjust treatment based on patient progress, and educate patients and families while collaborating with the medical team to optimize outcomes and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days (AHA).
• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) by state licensing board.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (Required).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed.
• Uses body mechanics to reduce risk of injury to self and others.
• Designs and implements a plan of care integrating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plan.
• Adjusts care based on patient response and evidence.
• Educates patients, family, and caregivers with effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine OT diagnoses and outcomes.
• Performs examinations with reliable methods relevant to chief complaints.
• Screens patients to determine need for therapy services.
• Documents evaluations and plans of care according to policy.
• Supervises COTA and rehabilitation technicians as needed.
• Communicates patient performance and discharge needs to the medical team.
