Job summary

TrueNorth Wellness Services in Elizabethville, PA, seeks a part-time therapist to provide individual, group, and family therapy across the lifespan. The role involves addressing mental health and/or substance use treatment needs, performing ASAM-based assessments, and guiding clients toward appropriate levels of care under supervision.

The position emphasizes effective communication, motivational interviewing, and proficient use of EMR and telehealth tools, with opportunities for supervision

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred; bachelor's with experience may be considered.
• Licensure in LSW/LCSW/LPC/LAPC or MFT preferred but not required.
• Must maintain 25 hours of training per year for licensing requirements.
• Ability to travel to rural locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients across the lifespan.
• Address mental health and/or substance use treatment needs within both treatment modalities.
• Complete assessments using ASAM criteria and advise levels of care.
• Communicate effectively with diverse clients in writing and verbally; use motivational interviewing to guide recovery.
• Navigate electronic medical records and telehealth technology efficiently.

Job Tasks

• Providing individual, group, and family therapy to identified clients across the lifespan.
• Ability to address mental health and or substance use treatment needs of identified clients and work comfortably within both types of treatment.
• Ability to complete assessments using the ASAM criteria and make recommendations for the appropriate levels of care under the direction of the Director of Substance Use Disorder Treatment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of clients both verbally and in writing. Use motivational interviewing with other treatment modalities to guide clients collaboratively into recovery.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently navigate an electronic medical record and telehealth technology

Requirements

• Masters degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a related field preferred. Bachelors degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a related field with experience may be considered. Licensure in LSW, LCSW, LPC, LAPC or MFT preferred but not required.
• Must be willing to maintain 25 hours of training a year in areas that meet health department / SUD licensing requirements.
• Must have FBI fingerprinting clearance, PA Child abuse clearance, PA state police criminal history clearance and 3 credits of Mandated Reporter Training
• Ability to have reliable transportation to and from work location and willingness to work in rural area
