Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a human services related discipline is required.
• Must be independently licensed Masters level mental health practitioner (or eligible within six months of hire).
• Three (3) years of post-licensure clinical experience preferred.
• One (1) year supervisory experience, required.
• Experience with student internship programs and staff training, preferred.
• Previous experience working with substance use disorders and at-risk clientele is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required; must meet Mercy’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, guides, and directs outpatient mental health and substance abuse counseling staff emphasizing/insuring the provision of qualitative therapeutic services in our Des Moines, Indianola and Newton offices.
• Provides oversight for mental health, substance abuse, trauma, and personal growth related therapy services to clients.
• Understands advanced psychosocial theory and methods to counseling services for individuals, families and groups with appropriate regard for the complexity of given problems.
• Provides crisis intervention and conflict resolution assistance. Demonstrates ability to differentiate between emergency and non-emergency tasks and responds accordingly.
• Provides leadership and support to House of Mercy’s outpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment programs accreditation and compliance initiatives/activities.
• Consistently monitors and evaluates the quality and consistency of therapeutic services provided to children, adults and families served by House of Mercy.
• Evaluates overall programming to insure that it is researched/best practice based and tied to measurable outcomes.
