Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider in an outpatient clinic setting at a franchised location. The role supports patient flow and accurate documentation across diverse franchise sites.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, preparing patients for exams, performing lab duties, administering medications, and maintaining sterile protocols.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Assisting or equivalent; 6 months to 1 year related experience considered.
• AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit; prepare patient for exam.
• Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
• Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and timely.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved procedures.
• Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing or in-house testing.
• Perform laboratory tests, QC, and equipment maintenance per instructions.
• Respond to lab messages and callback requests.
• Conduct drug screening procedures per rules and regulations.
• Ensure immunizations are documented and administered per procedures.
• Coordinate physician referrals and service pre-certifications as needed.
• Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
