Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Hospital Assistant III to support outpatient services across UCSF sites, including Bayfront Medical Building. You will assist in patient care, perform basic clinical tasks, document in the EHR, and coordinate with physicians and staff to ensure efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, obtaining specimens, and facilitating referrals and insurance authorizations while adhering to hospital policies and HIPAA

Qualifications

• 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.
• Current American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine clinical functions and documents in the patient chart (vital signs, height, weight, pain,/chief complaints).
• Documents interpreter use and coordinates with interpreting services for appointments.
• Assists nurses, providers, and patients in exam and procedure preparation.
• Ensures infection control and maintains logs and logs for QA/QC and crash carts.
