Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant Program OR graduate of the Med Ed Program OR one year of clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• State criminal background check and Federal checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to medical staff to assure patients' needs are met and outpatient unit runs smoothly.
• Assist providers with requisitions or forms for examinations or testing and ensure test results are available.
• Administer prescribed medication under supervision of attending provider.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations of specimens.
• Obtain and document patient specimens and report results to provider.
• Assist with POCT tests and maintain quality control logs.
• Schedule additional testing and assist with registration and billing processes.
