As a Medical Assistant in the Ambulatory Cardiac/Thoracic Surgery program, you’ll assist with screenings, patient monitoring, medication management, and a mix of administrative and clinical tasks on days, 7:00am to 5:30pm.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program or military training as HM, 68W, or 4N0X1.
• Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
• LPN licensure in ambulatory care is considered; Ohio License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with screenings and treatments, updating health information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications under the direction of the provider.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
• Perform administrative/clerical duties, including scheduling and patient registration.
