The Medical Assistant at Baptist Health Bardstown Urgent Care provides direct patient care and clinical support in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient history, medication reconciliation, and coordinating with pharmacies, insurers, and physicians using EPIC EMR.

Upon successful clinical competency, the role may include performing EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and other procedures, with ongoing training and a strong emphasis on teamwork

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year MA experience with direct patient care.
• Graduate of accredited MA program with hands-on patient care.
• Clinical competency assessment upon hire; MA orientation completed.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience a plus.
• BLS/CPR within 90 days; BAT/DOT certs within 90 days.

Responsabilités

• Check in patients, obtain vital signs, and reconcile medications.
• Collect patient history information and document in the record.
• Navigate EPIC EMR and coordinate care with providers.
• Communicate with pharmacies, insurers, patients, and physicians.
• Support clinic workflow and scheduling; coordinate tests/procedures.
• May perform EKGs, phlebotomy, injections as competency allows.
