Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Bridgeport, WV is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct outpatient nursing care, following standards of care, and supporting physicians and RNs in exams and procedures.

The role involves assessment, vitals, medication administration, documentation, patient education, and collaboration to ensure efficient clinic flow. Requires valid LPN license in the state and BLS certification; on-site, day shift, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient medical office setting.
• Uses standards of care and standards of practice to guide care delivery.
• Accurately administers intramuscular, subcutaneous, and oral medications as ordered.
• Consults with the Provider or Registered Nurse to seek guidance in delivery of nursing care.
• Obtains instruction and supervision as necessary from the Provider or Registered Nurse.
• Performs designated therapeutic procedures to patients as needed.
• Observes, records and reports patient concerns, symptoms, reactions and progress to the Provider.
