Job summary

Inova Health System in Annandale, VA is seeking an on-site Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 for its Vascular Surgery - Triage team. The role is a full-time daytime position, Monday through Friday, with standard daytime hours.

You will coordinate referrals, administer medications, communicate with the care team, and maintain patient records under physician supervision. Required: Virginia LPN license, a vocational/technical nursing diploma, and BLS from the American Heart Association, plus at

Qualifications

• Education: Vocational/Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing.
• License: Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• At least 2 years nursing experience in a hospital or clinic.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates referrals for patient chronic care conditions and follow up care as indicated by the initial care plan of the specialist and/or primary care physician.
• Administers prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies and treatments following practical nursing standards and under the direct supervision of the physician.
• Effectively communicates with healthcare team members, patients and families; Supports healthcare team members to achieve team goals and assigns appropriate tasks to care assistants.
• Maintains and reviews patient medical records, notes and physician orders; Documents all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities.

Inova Vascular Surgery - Triage is looking for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 to join the team. This role will be full time day position, Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm or 8:30am - 5pm.
